It is funny to note how completely Western and boring the music anthem is! Just another boring march. The opening verse has obviously way too few characters. They didn’t bother to add anything from Chinese traditional music. This just makes it so clear how The CCP exaggerates the threat of the West to keep in power (中共夸大了西方要继续掌权的威胁) is just completely superficial. Do other non-Western countries do better?

India: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iWUEKafrjN0 does a bit better. Funny how they spend half of the anthem listing which areas belong to India. Fear of Separatism (分离主义, Taiwan 台湾, Xinjiang 新疆, Hong Kong 香港) is also clearly very high in the country.

The Bhutan’s Anthem is maybe difficult to enjoy because we are used to listen occidental music, with the tonal system. But, to be fair, we should to consider their culture. So, I think it’s not as bad as we could to think.

You are absolutely right!!! It is one of the very few non-Western anthems that sound like it could have come from traditional music. Colonization was a terrible terrible thing, it destroyed even the self esteem of the colonized!
