You've never ever been living in China, you even don't know more than 10 chinese people, and how could you know that what you see is the truth?
My chinese friend, who hated chinese government a lot, when to Canada. Once the chinese president visited Canada and ofc FLG people went out and did the demostration. FLG people stayed one side of road and other people who wanted to welcome the chinese president were on the other side. There were about less than one hundred FLG people, most people were there to welcome him. However, Canadian newspaper, printed the photo of ONLY the side of FLG people, and said: the Chinese president sucks...
Another story: in western universities, political or religious newspapers are forbidden. However, in some Canadian universities, FLG's newspapers were distributed free. The biggest problem is: these infos are not true. Is this your wonderful freedom?
You don't know China, you don't know chinese history either. What you can see, is false information.
Let me tell you what I've seen in China.
When FLG appeared in China, I was in middle-school. My uncle was a math teacher. In my city there was about five small villages, most of people there believed in FLG. As a result, more than 20 old people died because they refused to go to hospital.
Then the municipal government decided to let teachers go into these villages and taught people the science. My uncle was one of them. At the same time, the municipal government forbid all of books and CDs of FLG. Half year later, most of people were willing to go to hospital when they were sick. There were few people left. They still believed in FLG. The most important thing was: these people were kind of directors in FLG and they could make money with FLG. Now nobody believed in FLG so... No money anymore... So they were angry and kept selling books of FLG. After all, they were arrested by the police.
This is FLG in my eye. Today FLG said: they are persecuted by chinese government, chinese government killed people etc, chinese government took their organs...
Come on man... Do you really believe all of these?
You have no idea about China at all.
My grandparents, born in 1935, are all illiterate, they didn't know what electricity was, what car was when they were young. My parents, born in 1964, finished their middle school and stopped their studies. There are less than 10% university students 30 years ago in China. My parents can't speak english at all. My mother even don't know what the alphabet is, she even doesn't know how to use PC. And you know what? My parents were much better than others...
30 years ago, in tsinghua university, Beijing, the best university in China, physicists made a magic machine and declared that they had succeeded in receiving a powerful unknown signal from a FLG master, who was very very far from Beijing...
This was China. Please try to understand how powerful and how dangerous when FLG appeared in China.
You and people around you are well educated. If a person say: Don't go to hospital, I can heal the cancer. Would you believe him? You definitely wouldn't. But 30 years ago in China, many people would believe him. You can even do a magic show and tell him you are GOD! YES, they will believe you...

This is very very simple magic show. However, he was very rich. He said he was the GOD. Lots of chinese people believed in him. People gave him lots of money and some women had sex with him...
This was China.
I admit that chinese government arrested some FLG people but have you ever thought about the reason? Have you ever learnt about how many people FLG killed?
2008 Sichuan earthquake, lots of chinese people died. FLG people in US said: It's a happy day! It's really good to see chinese people's dying! The earchquake proved that chiense government must be perished. This is what I heard because I'm in the US at that time.
innocent people died and FLG said it was very good.
Do you really think FLG is religion? REALLY? Tell me the difference between FLG and ISIS because I think they are the same.
The western world has been woken up since 18th century and even earlier, China? hmm... I think we can say: Chinese are woken up since the year of 1945 or even later. We have 200 years' distance. This kind of distance is not about GDP, is not about power, it is just about thinking.
